Serving the Community with a Mobile Food Market Event

Coming up on May 30^th, NuMark is partnering up with Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) to host a Mobile Food Truck event for the Joliet community. 

The mobile food truck event distributes meat, produce, non-perishable food and a variety of other home products in communities where there’s a greater need than existing food pantries in the area can provide. This event will be at the Joliet VA Clinic’s Hope Manor on Eagle Street, from 4:00-6:00pm, or until the food runs out. 

NIFB was created to “make a difference in the lives of our neighbors and help ensure they have enough food to thrive.” The organization is part of the Feeding America network and serves 13 counties in Illinois – providing 250,000 meals per day! 

In a time where nearly 80% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, the possibility of food scarcity amongst families is an unfortunate reality that many face. NIFB combats that by providing food to these communities through Mobile Markets, Pop-Up Markets, and more. They rely on the kindness and generosity of other community members and local businesses to volunteer with them to help bring these items to those in need throughout the area it serves. 

NuMark has been partnering with NIFB for nearly a decade to help serve communities in need. Our organization puts a lot of emphasis on the importance of community outreach, and partnering with NIFB is just one of the many ways we do so. We really value our partnership with the organization and are looking forward to hosting even more mobile food truck and outreach events with them throughout the year. 

While this mobile market event is only for veterans living in the Hope Manor complex, it won’t be the only opportunity for community members who need groceries to receive help.
