February 19, 2024 – NuMark Credit Union is proud to announce the 2023 President’s Club winners. Congratulations to Front Office Employee of the Year, Emma Valencia (Plainfield Teller Supervisor). Back Office Employee of the Year, Mateo Munoz Ocampo (Card Services Specialist). Front Office Manager of the Year, Marina Mendoza (Aurora Assistant Branch Manager). Back Office Manager of the Year, Laurie Veasy (Vice President of Lending). Rookie of the Year, Rachel Schubbe (Earlville Branch Manager).
Emma has been with NuMark since 2021 and started as a Member Service Representative. She has since moved to the leadership role of Teller Supervisor where she has really been able to shine. A peer of her’s had the following to say about her, “Emma’s exceptional qualities as a coach, leader, and valuable support have not only contributed significantly to my personal growth but have made her an indispensable asset to our team and members. Emma has played a pivotal role in my development, offering guidance and support that has been instrumental in my success at NuMark. Her dedication to providing excellent service to our member’s is unmatched.”
Mateo will be celebrating his 5-year anniversary with NuMark in July of this year. Here is what Mateo’s peers had to say about him, “Mateo is an outstanding team player. He displays a positive attitude and is always patient with any situation. He is always willing to help and doesn’t stop until it is resolved. Mateo takes ownership assisting others even if he does not know the answer himself. Additionally, Mateo is part of our DEI committee, and he is always jumping in to assist others when planning for events.”
Marina just celebrated her 5-year anniversary with NuMark earlier this month. A peer of Marina’s had the following to say about her, “Marina has been doing an exceptional job in effectively managing the branch and providing guidance to her team. Her willingness to actively engage and work alongside staff showcases a valuable trait of a strong leader. Marina’s passion for our credit union mission is evident in every conversation she has, and it is clear that she strives to embody our mission statement with each member interaction.”
Laurie has been with NuMark since 2018 and after a brief time away, she rejoined the NuMark family in 2022 as the Vice President of Lending. “Laurie is also a brand champion. She is proud to represent NuMark in the community. She is active in the Joliet chamber, Rotary and various civic organizations. Laurie has definitely embraced the “where you are family” brand.”
In addition to selecting the President’s Club members, NuMark Credit Union awards one of its newest team members with the “Rookie of the Year” award. This award goes to the employee that has been with NuMark less than one year and is noted for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the team.
Rachel started with NuMark in May of last year, right after the merger with Pioneer State Bank was complete and in the midst of training for the conversion. Here is what a peer had to say about her, “The short time I have worked with Rachel, I have been impressed. She is so present to her team and other departments in the organization. She works hard and has demonstrated her effectiveness as a team player. She has an aptitude for technology which makes her even more effective to her team and her credit union. We are lucky to have her.”
These NuMark Credit Union team members were chosen for their hard work, dedication and outstanding service to the members of NuMark Credit Union. Credit Unions are owned and operated by their members, the very people they serve. The philosophy of “people helping people” is the heart of the credit union movement. NuMark Credit Union recognizes those employees who go above and beyond to serve their members.
