NuMark Credit Union Walks in Two Parades in One Weekend

In honor of Pride Month, 27 employees and family members from NuMark Credit Union got together in downtown Aurora on June 9th to walk in the Annual Pride Parade. NuMark has been participating in the parade each year since it began in 2018.

In addition to the Pride Parade, this year was the first time NuMark walked in the Lions Club Lions Fest Parade in Earlville. NuMark had 18 employees and family members walk in the parade, that also took place on June 9th. The parade took place at the end of a weekend festival meant to raise money for the community, school classrooms, and celebrate the town of Earlville.

“Walking in the Lions Fest Parade was such a fun opportunity,” said Rachel Schubbe, Manager of NuMark’s Earlville branch. “NuMark arrived at the Lions Fest Parade in true farm country fashion, complete with a farm tractor and hayrack. The energy level was high as our employees and family members got the chance to interact with other members of the community, and we look forward to more opportunities like this in the future!”

As an avid supporter of the communities it serves, NuMark believes that it’s important to give back and show appreciation to everyone in them. NuMark wants to make sure everyone in the community feels welcomed at their branches, which is why the credit union walks in the Joliet Mexican Independence Day Parade and Paw Paw Labor Day Parade, in addition to the Pride Parade and now the Lions Fest Parade.

NuMark works hard to ensure that its surrounding communities feel supported in any way possible. That includes the annual parades that employees walk in, as well as other community events like raising money for Wreaths Across America or partnering with the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

“We are so happy to sponsor the Aurora Pride Parade because at NuMark, all are welcome,” said Mack Story, Assistant Vice President of Branch Operations. “NuMark has been a part of the pride event since it started, and we will continue to support the community. I am happy to work with a company that welcomes everyone so they can bring their true authentic self. I loved seeing the community come out to the Pride Parade to support the LGBTQIA+ community.”

The credit union is proud to support its communities in any way it’s able to and is always looking for more opportunities. NuMark wants its members to feel assured they are working with a financial institution that not only cares about them, but everyone around them, which is why it makes community involvement a cornerstone of its operations.

NuMark would like to thank its employees and the family members who joined them in walking in the parades, as well as the pride parades’ teams who worked tirelessly to put together these two incredible events.
