Providing food for our hungry neighbors is something that NuMark Credit Union stands behind. Did you know that half a million people rely on food provided by the Northern Illinois Food Bank? With their partnership, NuMark had the chance to help make life a little easier for families in the local community by sponsoring a mobile food truck on May 18th.
For two hours on a rainy day, NuMark family and friends volunteered by distributing boxes of food at the Joliet VA at 1201 Eagle Street. A line of cars stretched as far as the eye could see, and each vehicle left with a full load of boxes containing dairy products, vegetables, meat and more. By the end of the event, 91 families and 253 individuals had been served!
A small action can have an enormous impact. Graphics and Web Coordinator, Mat Tuck stated, “I had a blast helping with the Northern Illinois Food Truck. I’m so glad I got to play a part in providing food to families in need.”
NuMark has been working with the Northern Illinois Food Bank for 6 years. For each dollar raised, the Northern Illinois Food Bank can stretch their resources to provide $8 worth of food.
