Our offices will be CLOSED on Monday, February 16, 2026, in observance of Presidents’ Day. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, February 17th.
Coming this Friday, May 24th, NuMark will be taking part in Flags In Day at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. NuMark, along with staff from 1340 WJOL, and community volunteers will help place over 70,000 American Flags in front of each gravesite and the Columbarium wall within the grounds to celebrate fallen veterans in honor of Memorial Day.
Flags In Day, originally dubbed Decoration Day, began in 1948 when soldiers assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Arlington National Cemetery started the practice in preparation of Memorial Day. The name began to be referred to as “Flags In” Day because it’s when the flags are placed in the ground for the veterans.
The recurring success of each Flags In Day that we’ve participated in would never have been possible without the help of volunteers, community partners and 1340 WJOL – who airs live broadcast coverage the morning of the event.
Flags In Day is a wonderful way to honor those who fought for our country and made the ultimate sacrifice for us. The event is open to the public, and if you’re interested in participating in Flags In Day, you’re able to join on the day of. Be sure to get there by 9am so you don’t miss the important announcements and the story of why Flags In Day is such an important tradition.
