President’s Report

Our resilient NuMark Family has not only persevered through a difficult year, but we also added to our family while enhancing our products and services.

Through it all, NuMark continued to be your single source for all things financial. Our NuMark Team found new ways to serve our members from curbside loan closings to opening new services through the drive up. Our online and mobile services played a vital role in providing access to accounts. In 2020, we helped members purchase or refinance 768 homes, welcomed 4,021 new members and grew by 22.25% in assets.

Supporting our communities, NuMark donated $20,000 to local charities through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLB). NuMark also donated over $10,000 to Northern Illinois Food Bank and sponsored three mobile food trucks that assisted 1,100 families. Staff paid it forward by giving a total $5,000 to over 50 charities for CU Kind Day.

I am truly proud of all that NuMark accomplished. We showed our resolve and deepened our commitment to enriching the financial lives of our members. The commitment of our board and the dedication of our staff is unmatched. After 40+ years of service to the credit union movement and 24 years with NuMark, it is difficult to retire and leave our NuMark Family. However, I know that our members are in the best of hands and will be well served.

My heartfelt thank you for the privilege of serving as your President/CEO for the past 21 years. I have often said, “You cannot be successful alone” and there are no truer words. It has been an honor to work alongside our Board of Directors and an outstanding leadership team and staff, which together have made our NuMark Family what it is today.

There are bright days ahead. NuMark will continue to put our members first and provide the best financial services that help our members achieve their fantastic futures and do more with their money.

Chairman’s Report

While 2020 was a tough year, there were many bright spots including earning 1st Place in the State of Illinois for the National 2020 Desjardins Adult Financial Literacy Award for our Money Talk Radio Show on 1340 AM WJOL. To continue our commitment to Financial Literacy, we are now providing free virtual seminars for our most popular topics.

Our mission is to serve our members and support our communities. Thanks to the generosity of our members and staff, we were able to donate $3,000 to the Wreaths Across America Project and sponsor 392 wreaths that were placed at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery bringing our 11-year total to $26,929. In November, we also helped the Mom-and-Pop Restaurants by purchasing staff lunches at 30 locally owned restaurants throughout the month.

As 2021 begins, it is an exciting time for NuMark Credit Union. We are welcoming our newest members from NorthStar Credit Union. While helping our members through the pandemic, we were also laying the groundwork to bring two strong credit unions together to form a strategic collaboration. Our NuMark Family is bigger and stronger than ever before with 150 employees to serve you at 9 branch locations throughout the Chicagoland area.

In the years ahead, we will be able to provide more for our members from new technologies that provide more convenience and access to your money to more locations ready to serve your needs. It is indeed an exciting time. Thank you for being a member of the NuMark family.
