It’s that time of year when Identity Thieves are looking to steal your personal information and your money. The best way to protect yourself is to be skeptical of anyone calling you about your finances, even if they seem to be from your bank or credit union. NuMark Credit Union will never ask for your debit card number, PIN or CVV number (the three digits on the back of your card.)
If you are concerned about the person calling you, don’t give them any information, hang up and call your bank or credit union directly. If the call was legitimate, your financial institution will respect your concern for protecting your financial information.
If you feel that you’ve been a victim of identity theft, contact your bank or credit union and visit www.consumer.ftc.gov for additional resources.
