NuMark branches will be CLOSED on Monday, January 20th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, January 21st.
Our History
NorthStar Credit Union Merged with NuMark Credit Union in 2021 to provide comprehensive services to the community. The NorthStar mission was to be the clear choice for financial services of those who live or work in the communities they served; they accomplished this by offering products tailored to the individual needs of their members. That same spirit continues on in NuMark as we put our members first in all we do.
In 1971, Employees of Amoco in Naperville, Illinois came together to cooperatively afford employees an opportunity to achieve their financial goals by founding Standard Oil Research Federal Credit Union.
The Credit Union expanded its select employer groups. While maintaining its presence on the Amoco, now BP, site, a new headquarters was established in the “N” building in Naperville. The credit union changed its name to NaperTech Federal Credit Union.
NaperTech changed names to NorthStar Credit Union to better reflect the Credit Union’s core values and mission. In 2001, NorthStar moved its headquarters to Warrenville, and obtained a community charter to increase its membership reach.
Southwest Chicago Chapter Credit Union merged with NorthStar, which expanded its offerings to consumers living, working, or worshiping in the Bridgeport community on the Southside of Chicago.
NorthStar merged with Oak Trust Credit Union, gaining two additional branches in Plainfield and Aurora.
In 2021, NorthStar Credit Union merged with NuMark Credit Union bringing the four NorthStar branches, Aurora, Bridgeport, Plainfield, and Warrenville to the NuMark Family. We stand ready to provide exceptional service to our members.
