A Fun Learning Event to Teach Kids About Money Habits
June 2018 – NuMark Credit Union will host a Moonjar Moneybox learning event for kids aged 5 to 11 on Thursday, July 19 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the New Lenox Park District located at 701 W. Haven Avenue in New Lenox.
Moonjars offers a visual, tactile beginning for young attendees to understand how to use money. Kids listen to a story about two children who are making choices about spending their money. Young attendees construct their own Moonjar moneyboxes to take home. They include a jar for saving, spending and sharing. During the learning event, kids talk about the concepts of what are wishes and hopes while learning about making good financial choices.
“The Moonjar Program is a fun way to teach kids about saving, spending and sharing,” says Linda Krakora, Training & Development Manager. “Not only do kids enjoy building their Moonjar Moneyboxes but enjoy listening and learning through the story.”
